Localized irradiation data

Solar Monkey is in contact with public weather databases. That is why we know exactly how much solar radiation your system can expect.

This makes your calculations more reliable because they take into account weather and radiation patterns.

Each day, we monitor the yield of thousands of solar panel systems and compare this with the values calculated by our software to continuously improve our calculation models. That’s what makes us so confident.

Shadow analysis via 3D models

When available, we use a full 3D model of your country, including the vegetation and buildings based on LiDAR data (height data). The irradiance of sunlight and shading effect during the day and during the year is calculated for each panel. We even make a distinction between direct and diffuse light.

We also take into account the specifications of your designed system. It accounts for the selected panels and inverters or whether optimizers or micro-inverters were chosen.
